People taking digitalis extract and any of its derivatives such as digitoxin and digoxin used to treat heart failure should not take this supplement. According the the manufacturer clinical trials, Kalawalla has the slight ability to reduce blood pressure, as does the heart medications that contain the ingredients above. Those medications plus Kalawalla could cause an unsafe drop in blood pressure.
